The Yank-Um Drop-Shot Rod is the best rod we have ever owned. It is a very sensitive rod you can feel every bite with it even the softest of bites. It is also a very tough rod, we have fished with them for a while and we have had no problems out of them. They are all hand crafted in Tennessee and they are very light rods as well. Jacob Wheeler won the Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Lanier with a four day weight of 60 pounds and 1 oz. He said he caught his fish mostly in the Chattahooche River. He caught his fish on a Rapala X-Rap Prop, flipping a tube, and a Chatterbait style lure. He also said the X-Rap Prop showed them something different, he caught a lot of fish on that bait the second day. He said he caught most of his fish pitching and flipping on sunday. Jacob said he wants to tell all the young fisherman out there who are trying to fish professionally that it can happen. The Wackem Crazy Baits Lil Mad Minnow is a Awesome Drop-Shot bait. It has got lots of movement and it drives bass crazy. We throw it on a Yank-Um drop-shot rod and 8lb pound test line. It has got scent and fish hang on to it longer and it is tougher than other minnow profile baits. Try the Lil Mad Minnow here is a video that shows the Lil Mad Minnow in a tank click this link to see it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEOipCYcStQ The Wackem Big Sissy worm is one of the best drop-shot worms we have ever used for bass. It's tougher than other drop-shot baits and they hold on longer because of the scent. They make many colors in the sissy worm and they are great for clear water lakes. Adam caught this bass on the Wackem Big Sissy Worm in the Blue Oyster Color on our Drop-Shot Bass fishing video. The sissy worm has alot of movement in the water when you work it and it triggers strikes. Try the Sissy Worm the next time you go out drop-shotting. The Wackem Stinger Tail Worm is a very effective worm for producing big bass on a Yank-Um Shakey Head. The worm is very flexible and has scent so the fish will hold on longer for better hooksets. Wackem makes many different colors in the Stinger Tail worm for all fishing conditions. The next time you go Shaky worming for bass try the Wackem Stinger Tail Worm and you will catch more and bigger fish. The Berkley Havoc Pit Boss is an extremely effective bait when bass are shallow and cruising. Pitch it around brush and other structure and you will usually get bit. The little flappers on the bait make a lot of vibration and the bass love it. When you see bass up shallow cruising throw it out in front of them and when they start to get on it start dragging it and most times they will bite it. The Pit Boss works good when bass are on there bed as well. Click on the image to make it bigger of Adam with the Largemouth he caught on the Pit Boss.
Brandon Palanuik Won a B.A.S.S. tournamanet on Bull Shoals Lake with a Rapala DT. He was throwing the DT 16 in Mike Iaconnelis Custom Ink Blue Back Herring color. He says the DT is his confidence bait and he caught his entire 24.4 pound bag on day two with the DT. Britt Myers finished second and his key bait was a DT. It goes to show how effective the Rapala DT is.
The alabama rig has gained a lot of popularity since October 2011 when Paul Elias won a FLW Tour Open tournament on Lake Guntersville with it. His four day weight was 102 pounds. Since then everybody wants one. They are a extremely effective bait when Spotted Bass are eating shad and schooling. The bait is so effective that B.A.S.S banned them from there Elite series tournaments and in some states you can only have 2 or 3 baits on the rig. You can put swimbaits on them, grubs, or soft jerkbaits. We put Berkley Powerbait Hollow Belly swimbaits on ours or Powerbait or Gulp! Jerk Shads. You also need the right gear to throw them on because they can be tiring to throw. A baitcaster with a heavy action rod such as a 7'11 works great and 20 to 25lb Berkley Trilene XT (extra tough) line is a great outfit for the alabama rig. The Alabama Rig catches fish and when you have the right baits and the right gear with it you will catch Bass.
Rapala Pro Staff Mike Iaconneli made some custom colors in the Rapala DT series. They are some very great looking colors and we will be using them this year on North Georgia Outdoors. The colors are Mardi Gras, Demon, Old School, Disco Shad, Smash, Caribbean Shad, Penguin, and Blueback Herring.
Berkley has came out with some new bait's for 2012. They made new bait's for the Powerbait lineup they are, thief, power craw, and the rib worm. New Gulp! and Gulp! Alive! baits are, Fat bottom shad, Fat floating trout worm, Pinched crawler, flats worm, and Hellgramite. Berkley Havoc has came out with the Hawk hawg, Smash tube, and Juice worm. We look forward to using these baits on North Georgia Outdoors this year.
