Panfishing can be very fun in the Summertime. But the only thing that makes panfishing tough is the hot weather. It is best to go early of the morning or late of the evening. We like to fish depths from 3 to 9 feet for panfish in the summertime. We like to through micro sized crankbaits for them such as the Rapala Ultra Light Shad, Original Floater, or a Countdown. We use sizes 1 to 3 in the Countdown and Original Floater. We also catch big panfish on small jigs. We like to use small curly tail grubs or soft plastics that look like small minnows. You can also catch them on redworms good in the summertime. We like to put them on a small jighead. We use Ultra light Spinning tackle for these techniques and we use 6 to 8lb line. We catch them in brush in shallow water and we sometimes catch them around rocks and boulders deeper in the water. Try these techniques the next time you go Summertime Panfishing.
