The Crappie are starting to spawn and they are biting! But there are certain techniques that you can catch more Crappie with. Adam and Steven will go crappie fishing of the evening and with the techniques we are using we catch sometimes up to 50 crappie and sometimes over. We get back into wind blown pockets with brush in it and the wind blows the bait back there and the crappie will be with them. We catch them on either Berkley Powerbait Power Grubs or Berkley Gulp! Minnows below a bobber. The bobber needs to be at least 10 to 18 inches above the jig depending on the depth the crappie are. We hop them under the bobber and stop it and when it stops the crappie usually get it. We also reel it under the bobber and sometimes stop it and that produces crappie as well. Crappie also like Rapala Original Floaters and Countdowns in the small sizes, they also like the Rapala Ultra lite shad or Ultra lite minnow, or a Rapala Mini Fat Rap. Use these techniques the next time you go Spring Crappie Fishing.
