It has been a very cold start to our turkey season. It has rain and snowed and we have been hunting through it all trying to harvest a big longbeard. Hopefully we will get some warm weather that will make the turkeys start moving. We always try to find a spot where the turkeys have been scratching or where they are roosting. When we find that spot, we put out decoys and start calling with a Slate or Box call. If you don't hear anything be patient and keep calling and sitting because sometimes a gobbler will come in silent so be on the look out. Make sure you are hid so it will be harder for them to see you and wear good camo such as Realtree AP Green if the leafs are green and if the leafs aren't green yet wear Realtree AP. We also make a small brush blind when we are turkey hunting so it will make it harder for them to tell what you are and they will come closer. Try these things and you will have a good hunt.
