The 2014 Turkey Season has got off to a great start. The weather was cool and rainy. Adam harvested this Gobbler around ten in the morning and he came in silent. He was hunting close to a nearby field and it was on its way down there. Adam clucked and purred with his Knight & Hale Ol'Yeller Slate Call and it came in close enough for a shot. He self filmed it out of a Ameristep Blind. Always hunt a field or a food plot when it is raining or wet. Turkeys will go there and feed and stay around hens most of the time when the weather is like that. That is one of our favorite times to hunt for turkeys. But when you don't hear them gobble and you know there in the area, stay put and keep calling. They could come in silent so be prepared and make sure you are well camouflaged. We always wear God's County Camouflage to keep us out of sight. Make sure you scout the place you are going to hunt the evening before you go. We always do that especially when we are hunting a new area. Remember to be patient and even if you don't hear them gobbling, it doesn't mean that they aren't coming to you.
